PROFESSIONAL TESTING SERVICES
We look for visible mold growth and assess the extent of the problem.
The search is often focused on areas where there are moisture intrusion risks.
These may include areas by the windows, doors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchens or other areas where leaks and water damage commonly occur.
Areas where there is inadequate ventilation and high indoor RH (Relative Humidty) have a higher risk for mold growth.
Surface sampling may be recommended to perform lab analysis to confirm suspected mold growth and the extent of the problem.
Learn Our Process
Our goal is not simply to detect whether or not there is mold, but to try to identify the root cause of mold growth.
As such, inspecting for moisture is one of the key tasks as it will often direct us to both the problem as well as the solution.
We visually inspect for leaks, water damage signs, surface discolorations, stains or other deficiencies.
In addition, we use Moisture Meters to check the Moisture Content (MC) levels in various building materials in order to identify potential moisture intrusion problems.
During Post Remediation Clearance Testing, Moisture measurements may be taken to verify that the building materials are at the correct dry standard levels.
Air sampling may be recommended in order to assess mold levels indoors.
While we may not be able to see mold spores with our un-aided eyes, they are often present in our surroundings.
Air sampling allows us to check for detected species that point to a water damage situation such as Chaetomium, Ulcocladium or Stachybotrys.
Additionally, comparing the indoor samples to outdoor samples allow us to discern if there are elevated levels of mold spores indoors which may indicate an indoor growth source.
The samples are sent to a speciality AIHA accredited lab for analysis and is included in the Findings & Recommendations report.
The lab analysis for the air samples help us gain insight into the indoor environment even in situations where mold may not be visible on the surface.

When Are Mold Inspections Performed?
Often inspections are requested:
- After experiencing Water Damage
- As part of a real estate transaction Prior to Finalizing a Home Purchase

OUR PROCESS
We start with performing a visual inspection of the property, focusing on areas where there may be water damage, moisture issues or suspected mold growth.
With the help of specialized tools we may take environmental readings such as moisture or humidity levels in order to identify any potential issues.
Surface and air samples may be recommended depending on the inspection findings or customer concerns. Such samples are sent to a lab that specializes in identifying and analyzing mold spores.
Once all of the data is collected, we provide a report of our findings. If a mold growth problem is identified, a remediation protocol is outlined.
